What We Believe:

We believe in the one, true God and savior, Jesus Christ, who saves us from our sins & delivers us from the snares and chains of demonic hold on our lives. We understand that many times, much of our journey with God is a process that opens up layer by layer and requires a walk instead of a run, which is one of the reasons why we appreciate having a church family to walk it with. The natural man/woman can not see or perceive the things of the Spirit of God because it takes the Spirit of God in us to truly open our eyes to what the Spirit of God wants to do in and around us. (1Corinthians 2:12-14)

We believe that the new birth (being born again by receiving the gift of the holyghost)  (John 3:5) is necessary to place the believer in the Kingdom of God or the body of Christ “the Church” (I Cor. 12:12, 13). The outpouring of the Spirit on the day of Pentecost marked a “new era” in the Spirit of God’s dealing with mankind as prophesied and when God fills you with the Holyghost it will mark a new era for your life also. (Joel 2:28, 29 & Isaiah 28:11. ) We believe that Pentecost is not a religion but a life-changing experience that began in the book of Acts and is ongoing in those who desire to be true disciples & followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38)

We believe that the name of God is Jesus and that if someone lets you use their name, they are letting you use their authority. Jesus’s name was given to save his people from their sins, and Jesus’s  name was known by the Apostles who baptized (Matt. 28:19) by their action in how they baptized in Acts 8:16 and for the rest of their ministry. (Acts 9:15,16/Acts 10:43,48/Acts 19:1-7/Ephesians 1/1Cor.1:13)

We believe in praising & worshipping the Lord in song & dance, and thru the lifting of our hands, voices and hearts to him! We believe that worship is the key to the Lord’s presence and it is the gateway to receive true change in the life of a Christian . (1Timothy 2:8, Ephesians 5:19, 2 Chron. 5:13, Psalms 47:1, John4:24)

We strive to allow the Spirit of God to move freely in our services to demonstrate & edify the church thru the gifts of the Spirit (1Cor.12,13)

It is possible to worship and serve God without fully knowing who he is. Jesus asked “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Phillip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.” (John 14:9) It would be impossible to look at all of the ways that God has made himself manifest and still limit him to a Trinity. God’s flesh was the lamb of God, and God’s flesh is not separate from him, just like his word is not separate from him. In the beginning was the word , and the word was with God and the word was God. (John 1:1) And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us....(John 1:14) The Lord chose to build his church upon the Rock of who he is and give authority to the church to prevail against Hell using his name and the revelation of who he is so we believe that his body (the Church ) has a responsibility to honor his name , his deity & his plan for salvation by keeping the doctrine of it in the purity and priority that it was given.   (Matt.16:18)

(James 1:27) We know that it is impossible to live for God and for mammon, and it is impossible to live for what the world lives for and still love God as he deserves. Thru God’s love & wisdom, it is possible to become all things to all men to be able to gain some , without loving the world or giving place to the devil. (Matt.6:24, 1 John 2:15, 1 Cor.9:22)

We believe that religion that is pure & acceptable in God’s eyes is to meet the fatherless and the widow in their affliction and to keep oneself unspotted from the world . We do not believe that a desire to avoid worldliness in our own life should hinder our ability to meet people in their afflictions. It is of a self-righteous and Pharisaical mindset to use the laws & statutes of God to attack the character and heartbeat of God.

We further believe that while it is dangerous for a Spirit filled child of God to love the things of the world, we believe that it is just as dangerous to portray a proud look, which is listed with hands that shed innocent blood as an abomination to the Lord, and many times the proud look and proud countenance of a religious person is what intimidates the lost & aborts hope in those that are hurt by it. (Proverbs 6:16-19)  If a child of God allows the Spirit of God to work in & thru them, they will be able to carry the precious truth of the word of God with love because God is love. (Ephesians 4:14-18, 1 John 4:8

Who We Are:

Gumpoint Court of Praise is a place where refuge can be found in the Word of God and the love of His people.

The church was founded in 1934 because of a miracle of healing and the gratitude that the miracle produced has been the driving force and undercurrent of the people that attend now.  The Bible says that “Pure religion and undefiled by God is to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”.

We would love for you to come and worship the One True God with us.  Join our church family as we strive to not only love each other but to be a hope to the hurt, lost and barren of our world.
